MY ADVENTURE IS BEING CONVERTED TO 3D, WILL BE DELAYED
This certainly cannot end well, can it? I finally get to take over the White House and they want my moment of triumph - and the entire movie - delayed.
The real reason for the delay is not the 3D conversion, but that Obama doesn’t want it to look like I took over so soon before an election. He’s got to keep strong, even if it means kicking G.I. Joe fans in the junk.
Hey at least now you’ll get to see it all happen in 3D. BUT WHAT ABOUT ME? I HAVE NINETEEN FUCKING EYES!
Sucker!
I interviewed Cobie Smulders and Mark Ruffalo about The Avengers this Monday. This is one of my favourite movie press junket interviews I’ve done. Considering these two had been doing so many interviews for the film I love how into it they were and how much energy there was between us.
The Avengers is, as Cobie and Mark put it, mind-blowing.

Tomorrow I’ll be attending Free Comic Book Day at Stadium Comics both as a guest and a fan of of the medium. Since I’m not actually involved in the creation of anything comic-related, I’ll be selling various merch from my musical projects Cobra and Megashaun instead. But, should you come by and request a sketch it would be impolite of me to not oblige.
The buttons shown above will include a complimentary download of my Mutant Blobs Attack! EP. Free Comic Book Day will also be a great opportunity for local Cobra fans to pick up a limited-edition print of the unfolded box art for The Legend of Cobra.
I made this stop-motion video on the floor of my bathroom this afternoon using the app LEGO Super Hero Movie Maker. It didn’t take too long to make, as the app has a handy onion skin feature so you can line up your next shot for smoother animation. The one setback of course is having to hold my iPad while also moving Bumblebee around and transforming him. I’ll have to either invest in some sort of stand or fashion one out of household items.
Anyhow, not a terrible result for my first animation and I do enjoy this short clip more than all the Michael Bay Transformers movies put together – but then again I would also enjoy having to smell a dead bear’s fart more than those movies.
Also please don’t tell the LEGO people I used their app for a non-LEGO animation.
Yesterday I bought this box of donuts through the drive-thru at Tim Hortons. I counted on my fingers as I named as many different kinds of donuts that I like, because I wanted to have a nice variety for this photo. When it came time to name the twelfth donut, I said “chocolate dip,” though I had already said so earlier. What can I say? I love chocolate dip donuts and forgot to say, “old fashioned plain.”
Why would I want to take this photo in the first place? I’m starting up a new video podcast about donuts where each week, I will review a single donut and eat it in its entirety on camera. I filmed a pilot episode last night and it was very awkward to watch. Also my smacking while eating the donut? HIGHLY UNATTRACTIVE.
I must think this all over. In the meantime, what do you think of the names “Donut Digest,” “Donutty!,” “I Love Donuts,” “Let’s Get Fried!,” and “Go Nuts For Donuts!”
Please let me know what you would like my show to be called. I crave your validation almost as much as I crave donuts.
Today Johnny Headband released their latest album, Who Cooks For You? - it’s available FOR FREE on their Bandcamp page, so what the hell are you waiting for? GO GET IT.
I love this album. Maybe I listen to it too much. Less Lee Moore of Popshifter wrote an excellent review of Who Cooks For You? so be sure to give it a read.
Listener Discretion is Advised is a very funny podcast that my friends Clive Felice and Kevin Hickey record every week. Today they posted Episode 9 of the show, and I’m their guest star! As the title implies, listener discretion is advised. There are swears.
In November I lost a Mega Man lapel pin exactly like this. I was in Orlando, it was pinned to my jacket, and I was overly worried that it would hit something and fall off. And it eventually did. God damn it! I had purchased it from New York Comic Con for a dollar.
Today I went to Wizard World Toronto for work and, while pacing the floor, found a vendor selling this same lapel pin. It was in a set with another pin for $7. Man, inflation sucks! But I had to have it again. This time around I’ll be gluing the pin in place.
Wizard World was fun, by the way. I was very sleepy at the start of the day but each new person I talked to filled me with more energy.
The Legend of Cobra, by Cobra.
This album was released on November 20, 2011, to coincide with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii. The album art is an homage to the box art of the first two games in The Legend of Zelda series for the Nintendo Entertainment System, and this EP’s second track is about the series.
Cobra made this album available as a download, but those who see Cobra perform live get the opportunity to purchase a limited-edition print of the box art (front and back) that can actually be cut out and folded into a old-school style game box. The image file for this poster is also included with the download.
Enjoy!
Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is a game from Toronto’s DrinkBox Studios that’s available for PlayStation Vita. I contributed one song to the game’s soundtrack, which you can hear (or even purchase) on my Bandcamp page. It plays over the game’s end credits.
I used Cubase to record everything, and yes, that is me doing all the singing - even the falsetto. To say this was a little inspired by Dick Valentine would be an understatement.
I’ve posted this on Twitter and Facebook before, so apologies if you’re having to see this again.
